Wix Studio or Wix Editor?
Both are Wix. Editor suits a straightforward site you'll manage yourself; Studio gives full control at every breakpoint. I build in Studio by default.
Common mistakes
Mistakes I see on Wix sites
Never restructuring the template
Templates come with a page structure built for a fictional business. Keeping it forces your services, locations and priorities into a shape designed for someone else.
Ignoring mobile breakpoints
Wix generates a mobile layout automatically and it is usually workable but rarely good, which is where most of your traffic actually is.
Uploading enormous images
Wix compresses images, but it cannot rescue a 6MB photograph straight off a camera, the single most common cause of poor Core Web Vitals scores on Wix sites.
Leaving SEO settings on default
Wix generates page titles and descriptions automatically when you do not set them. The results are generic and frequently duplicated across pages.

What a Wix build costs, and what moves the price
A custom Wix Editor site starts at £800, Wix Studio at £1,000, and WebOws Performance is priced on application. Bookings or ecommerce start at £1,000 on Editor and £1,300 on Studio, on the £200/year Wix Core plan those features need. The quote is fixed in writing before any work begins.
Three things move that number: page count, functionality, and how much content you provide. A five-page site for a local trade is a different job from a thirty-page site covering every town, and a shop with stock control or a calendar-synced booking system adds real build time. Send finished copy and good photographs and the build is quicker than if I write and source them.
Wix hosting is billed by Wix directly and shown as its own line rather than buried in my total, so you always know what is my fee and what is the platform. Wix App Market apps are priced on top, with monthly fees billed to you by the provider.

What happens once the site is live
The Wix account stays in your name from the start, with me added as a collaborator rather than the other way round, so nothing needs migrating if you ever want to work with someone else or take over entirely, you just remove my access and carry on.
Before launch I walk you through the parts you are most likely to want to change: text, images, adding a page, adding an item to a CMS collection. This is where Wix Studio earns its place, because those edits do not need a developer and should not cost you money.
For the first 30 days after launch, anything that needs fixing or adjusting is included. After that, come back whenever you need to: some clients want a monthly arrangement, most prefer to send work over as it comes up, and both are fine.
