Website Design in Ashford for a Town That Keeps Growing

Ashford is expanding fast, and so is the competition. I build websites that help local businesses stand out to the people moving in and the customers already here. Fixed prices from £800, live in two to four weeks.

Local coverage

Why Ashford businesses need more than a template

Ashford has changed more than almost anywhere in Kent over the last decade. The international station put London under 40 minutes away, the Designer Outlet pulls shoppers in from across the south east, and the housing developments at Chilmington Green, Finberry and Repton Park have brought thousands of new residents who arrive with no idea who the local tradespeople, salons or accountants are.

That last point matters more than anything else here. In an established town, most local businesses run on word of mouth built up over years. In Ashford, a large share of your potential customers are new. They have no recommendations to fall back on, so they search, compare two or three options online, and ring whoever looks most credible. If you are not findable, you are not in the running.

The business mix reflects the growth. There is a substantial trades and construction base serving all that new housing, logistics and distribution around Sevington and the M20 corridor, professional services in the town centre, and independents around the High Street and County Square competing with the Outlet for the same footfall.

The upside is that plenty of local competitors have not caught up. Sites built years ago for a smaller Ashford, no mention of the new developments, nothing that speaks to someone who moved here last month. A site that loads fast, names the areas it covers and makes contact effortless puts you ahead of most of them quickly.

What tends to work here

Naming the new developments you serve
Reviews shown prominently, newcomers rely on them
Fast mobile pages, most searches are on phones
Clear pricing when competitors hide it
Real photos of your work, not stock imagery
A Google Business Profile kept current

Who this is for

The Ashford businesses I build for

Trades & construction

Builders, electricians, plumbers and landscapers serving the new estates at Chilmington, Finberry and Repton. New residents have no local recommendations, so your website and reviews are doing the introducing.

Logistics & B2B

Businesses around Sevington and the M20 corridor selling to other businesses. Here the site is a credibility check before a purchase order, so clarity, capability and easy contact routes matter far more than styling.

Independents & hospitality

Shops, cafés and salons around the High Street and County Square, competing with the Designer Outlet for the same footfall. Mobile is everything, so hours, location, photos and booking have to be instant.

What to fix

What a Ashford site usually leaves out

Built for desktop, used on mobile

Most local searching here happens on a phone, often by someone who has just moved in and is looking you up from the sofa. Sites built on a desktop and never tested on a handset lose them in seconds.

Written for the old Ashford

Plenty of local sites have not been touched since before Chilmington, Finberry and Repton Park existed. If your page never names the areas where the new customers actually live, Google cannot rank you for them.

Hidden pricing

Newcomers have no idea what is reasonable locally. A guide price or a typical range builds trust immediately and stops people bouncing to the next result to compare.

A neglected Google Business Profile

With so many residents new to the area, reviews are doing the job word of mouth used to. A stale profile with three old reviews hands the work to whoever keeps theirs current.

Questions

Ashford web design questions

Do you actually work with Ashford businesses?+

Yes, I have clients there. I'm based in Gillingham, about 40 minutes up the M20, and I'll come over when a face to face genuinely helps. Most of the process runs perfectly well remotely.

How hard is it to rank in Ashford?+

Very doable. There is real search demand here, but a lot of local competitors are running dated sites. Getting the basics right, speed, structure, Google Business Profile and reviews, tends to make ground reasonably quickly.

What does a website cost?+

Websites start at £800. You'll have a fixed quote in writing before I begin, so there's no hourly billing and nothing appears on the invoice that wasn't agreed.

Do you cover the villages around Ashford?+

Yes. Willesborough, Kennington, Singleton, Charing, Wye, Tenterden and the surrounding villages. If you serve those areas your website should say so, and I'll make sure it does.

Do you only build new sites, or redesigns too?+

Both. A lot of Ashford enquiries are businesses whose site suited a smaller town and has not kept pace with the growth. I can rebuild it or take over an existing Wix site.
