Web Design in Gillingham, Right On Your Doorstep and Mine
I'm based in Gillingham, so it's the town I know best and the one I've built more websites in than anywhere else in Kent. Fixed prices from £800, and live in two to four weeks.

Why Gillingham businesses need more than a template
This is home. My studio is in Gillingham, which means I know the High Street, I know which trades are busy, and I know the businesses that have been here twenty years alongside the ones that opened last month.
Gillingham is the largest of the Medway towns by population and the least glamorous, which is precisely why it works. It runs on trades, takeaways, garages, salons and a large base of sole traders serving a dense residential population.
That changes what a website needs to do. Nobody here is searching for a brand story. They want someone who answers the phone, turns up when they say they will, and has a few recent reviews.
Your site has about ten seconds to establish those three things, usually on a phone, usually while the customer is stood in the problem. The other factor is the university presence at Medway and Chatham Maritime, which brings several thousand students and staff into the area during term time.
What tends to work here
What to fix
What a Gillingham site usually leaves out
The phone number is buried
The most common fault I see locally. A number that only appears in the footer, or worse, only a contact form. For an urgent job, that loses you the enquiry to whoever made it easier, and it takes minutes to fix.
Reviews left on Google
Plenty of Gillingham businesses have genuinely good reviews sitting on Google that never appear on their own website. That is free credibility going unused, and it is the first thing a nervous customer looks for.
No mention of the surrounding areas
Sites that say Gillingham and stop there miss Twydall, Wigmore, Parkwood and the Rainham border, which is where a good share of the residential work is. If the page never names them, you are invisible there.
Built for desktop, used on mobile
A site built five years ago on a desktop and never properly checked on a handset. Most local searching happens on a phone, often in a hurry. If it loads slowly or the buttons are fiddly, people simply go back.

What it costs
What a Gillingham website costs, on one scale
The three build packages against the same scale, so you can see where each one starts and where they meet.
£800 to £1,000. A straightforward service or brochure site.
£1,000 to £1,300. Fully responsive design, my default recommendation.
On application, for businesses where the website is core infrastructure.

A call, competitors, then a fixed price agreed before anything starts.

Where the whole build sits, brochure at the short end, ecommerce at the long one.

Testing, SEO checks, analytics and email all done before it goes live.

Then ad-hoc whenever needed. Some clients come back years later.
Proof, not promises
Every one left by a real client on Google, Facebook, Trustpilot or Wix. Nothing here is a quote I chose because it flattered me.
Questions
Gillingham web design questions
Are you actually based in Gillingham?+
Yes. My studio is in Gillingham and it always has been. If you'd rather meet in person than do everything over email, that's genuinely easy here.
I'm a one man trade business. Is a website worth it?+
Usually yes, but the honest answer is that your Google Business Profile matters more first. If that isn't set up properly I'll tell you to fix it before spending anything with me, because it's free and it works.
Do you cover Twydall, Wigmore and Parkwood?+
Yes, and the rest of Medway. If you serve those areas your site should name them individually rather than just saying Gillingham, and I'll make sure it does.
What does a website cost?+
From £800, with a fixed quote agreed before anything starts. No hourly billing and nothing on the final invoice that you haven't already seen and approved.
How quickly can you get it live?+
Two to four weeks for most projects once I have your content. If you need something basic up sooner because you're losing work without it, say so and I'll work out a sensible first step.
