Off the booking
platform, onto
their own.

Leme Personal Therapy were paying commission on every new client Fresha sent them. I moved the bookings onto their own site and built the search visibility to go with it.

From brief to a live booking platform

From the client’s Google review

The revenue figure is the business's own. The fee comparison is arithmetic rather than an estimate: Fresha charged 20% commission on each new booking plus 2.19% and 20p on the card payment, against 2.9% per transaction and no booking commission afterwards. Two things changed at the same time, the fees and the search visibility, so I would not claim either one on its own produced the 30%.

The brief

The trouble with renting your own bookings

Leme Personal Therapy is a luxury massage, grooming and spa service for men in London, with studios in Marylebone and Shoreditch. More than twenty treatments, priced in the hundreds, sold on discretion and repeat visits.

Their bookings ran through Fresha. That works up to a point. The platform brings people in and charges for doing it: 20% commission on every new booking, plus 2.19% and 20p on the card payment. Around 22% off the top of every new client, on treatments where 22% is real money.

The deeper problem was ownership

When the platform holds the booking, the platform owns the relationship. Somebody searching for a massage in Marylebone found Fresha, and Fresha decided which business they saw.

The build

What I built

1

Their own booking system

Wix Bookings on their own domain, covering more than twenty treatments across massage, grooming, spa rituals and skin. Each service carries its own page, duration, price and studio options. There is no commission on a booking because there is no longer anybody in the middle to take one.

2

Two studios, two pages

Marylebone and Shoreditch each get their own page with their own map, so each can rank for its own part of London instead of the two competing as a single address.

3

Local SEO from the start

Service pages written for what people actually search for, structured so Google can tell what is offered, where, and at what price. The aim was straightforward: when somebody looks for the treatment, they find the business rather than a directory listing it.

4

The things that make people book

A gallery, a reviews section, WhatsApp contact for the questions nobody wants to email, and full legal pages. Small pieces, but they are the difference between a page somebody reads and a page somebody books from.

Every treatment carries its own page, price and booking button. No commission, and no platform between the business and the client.

Most bookings start on a phone, so that is the layout that got the attention.

The outcome

What changed

The business reports revenue up 30% since the move. Two things drive that and they pull in the same direction. Nearly nine tenths of the old booking fee stopped being charged, so more of each booking stays with the business. And the site now turns up in search on its own account, so some of the bookings that used to arrive through a platform now arrive directly.

The build took a week from brief to live, which is in the client's review rather than my own estimate.

★★★★★

WebOws Design created a professional and clean booking website for my massage and spa business. The quality of work was excellent, and they understood my vision perfectly. Communication was clear and efficient, and they were always responsive. What impressed me most was the speed, my booking platform was built in just one week. The final result is modern, easy to use, and very client-friendly. Highly recommended.
